It's been a while since I uploaded any nice ink drawings, or fanart OR Alien-related things. I recently got re-attached to the franchise so the other day on a meeting while I didn't feel like drawing anything this simple idea came to the rescue.And like it on facebook too, my page isn't doing that well lately xD

Well, there are plenty of variation in design from movie to movie and from art to art. I used to go for a more dinosauresque look, like in the fourth movie... but I had a change of heart recently : P

Liking the subtle "eye sockets" under the dome. I still wonder to this day whether these creatures actually have "eyes" or if it is just a random trait from its human host.

I recently watched a video that suggested that the eyes still work. If you see some of giger's early concepts for the creature it had the big traditional eyes that "greys" are usually depicted having That shint smooth black surface on the front of the face was later extended all over the phallic head already present in early concepts. Maybe we could assume from that that the entire head is one big long eye : P

*shudder* Yeah I remember the original Necronom IV, the inspiration for the creature, did indeed feature eyes on the outside of its long head. I remember seeing concept art for a creature in the prequel film Prometheus was based on the same look. Whatever the case may be, it gives the alien creature a creepy familiarity with the human skull without being a "spooky skeleton". Just the twisted hint of humanity in such a creature adds to the body horror that is its life cycle.

awesome work. though this guy isn't actually a Warrior. nearly everything is right except the head. this guys seems to have the dome of a Drone like the one seen in the first movie. Warriors head crests are Opaque with ridges along most of it. 4.bp.blogspot.com/-CN-ThOaznSg…

Officially there really is not a difference between a "drone" or a "warrior" in the films. Most of the producers of the film Aliens justified the head change as simply a more mature creature than the one from Alien. I think the two types of alien were just separated in the video games and merchandise as "drone" and "warrior" simply as a matter of convenience.

ah well i have seen some one else say that Warriors are older drones. but i beleave that much like ants who when exposed to pheromones can change casts when there is need. but when a hive is healthy and thriving. drones and Warriors are born as different casts. so basically a drone can mature into a Warrior but there are also Xenos that are born Warriors

I guess it depends on what storyline you prefer. I prefer the age theory, but it is not written in stone as far as I know. It is just like the difference between the idea of the Queen either being a unique caste in and of itself or your average Xeno being able to morph into a hulking Praetorian and then a Queen when the previous one dies. Both have been depicted in the literature based on the films.
