I think Ash didn't mention anything about it until her mom noticed something was wrong with her and just... sat by her side? because that always made Ash start talking, and unconciously end up talking about whatever bothered her (guess that's one of the "good sides" of being a mute, you're a good listener :33). so they talked (well, Ash talked) about what happened a couple weeks ago with Melvin, and how "she didn't feel ok with him just popping like that, expecting her to welcome him with open arms". In the end Iona brought her a lemonade and some blueberries with cereal and yoghurt and Ash just kept thinking about it.
