Oh look!It´s a silly little comic I made! :3
I´ll put some more work on the final high resolution comic (in finnish) but I wanted to get this english version posted.
Also, the title is a little wordplay in finnish, since kala means fish and Mari is a girl´s name.
I was pretty thrilled when I came up with it, haha. (:

So sweet! I really like the different sea animal designs and also storytelling-wise there are good ideas and interesting compositions. I like how you manage to alternate smoothly with the tale of the princess and the girl telling it.
Did you draw this with a brush? I also guess this was meant to be read in book format; I can probably tell where one page ends and another begins but I would still like to see it submitted one spread or page a time.

This whole thing started from a few fishgirl doodles in my sketchbook. They were the most fun and interesting part to do and design.
The storytelling part got some modifications on the way. In the sketch version there was some text guiding the story(telling) in the beginning but it was left out so that the reader can fill in the story as they wish. Apperently you have a cool princess version of the story :3
And the "woosh"-panel had something entirely different that really didn´t work out very well...
Most of this was done with a pen and ink but the story parts were done with a chinese "brushpen" that has a brushlike tip.
Yeah, the pages are originally meant to be read in a book format. However I ended up posting it like this, because I wanted to keep it all in one place so it´s easier to read.
If I set up a website or something I´ll probably put this there in parts... I doubt I´ll post it in DeviantArt like that, though. Atleast not the english version again.

Hmm, based on your gallery I could estimate that you have a liking for sea-things. But my, the fishgirls are pretty and make me want to apply some watercolours..
Text can be efficient but I value telling a story in pictures more. Nice point of making the reader participate, too. And when it comes to the princess story, I do! Who else could Kalamari be but a princess of the fish?

I do! Actually I like all kinds of pretty animals. Fishes were the easiest to use in this consept because of mermaids.
There´s all kinds of other animal-woman fusions in literature and folktale, though. Like harpies and nagas. I don´t want to cross the furry-line, though, so I´m not being overly exited about this..
I wanted to color the whole comic traditionally with either watercolors or copics, however, the originals have correction ink, on wich you can´t color

mmmmm colourful fish! I work on a lightbox most of the time, so coloring this on a separate (watercolour) paper would be easy, given the lineart in good quality page format and enough time. The latter might be a problem though.
Both cool and logical to me. If I were a fish and a beautiful girl fell into my realm, wouldn't it be obvious to make her my princess?

lol, this was cute. Just the kind of comic I like to read. Light-hearted and not intense. The sea monster wardrobe changes were great

Tämä oli myös aikamoinen tussausharjotus, kun otin käyttöön ensimmäistä kertaa (nestemäisen) musteen :3
