SYNOPSIS -
An anomalous disc shaped object cuts a quick swath across the path of a docking sequence. Annnnd, I will now address another frequent question I see in the comment section of ISS space videos on YouTube,
"Where is the space junk?"
The ISS orbits in LEO (Low Earth Orbit) around our planet; a narrow path and distance set for manned spacecraft from agencies around the globe. This distance, for the ISS, is 248 miles (about 400 kilometers) above the Earth. This is well below the much higher orbits of commercial, private and military satellites that may still be functioning or have otherwise died in orbit decades ago. Some orbits, such as Communications and Weather Satellites are much farther. It is this special distance used by the ISS and other space stations and capsule based orbits that is entirely free of debris left by defunct or damaged satellite traffic and so one would not really see any debris in circulation near the ISS.Β
Lastly, I will be taking some extra time for my next piece as I will be modeling a new spacecraft. I will be creating my realistic and believable take on a Starship vehicle with its own gravity generation and so forth.
