He's gorgeous. I love the look on his face. Makes me wonder what he's thinking.

Hi there, I'm from ProjectComment !
There is a certainy little funny coincidence here: as late as yesterday, I was actually designing a pair of Aasimar characters (a renegade prince and princess) who come from some theocratic state ruled by a holy tyrant demigod who surrounds himself with noble houses consisting of his debauched descendants.
The name is... interesting, since in Arabic, a Hajji is someone who has done the pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca; I suppose that based on the character's name and some design details, that the character is meant to come from a Middle-Eastern-style culture?
I like how well you gave the character that air of calm smugness and relaxed confidence. the gold necklace and exposed pectorals make look like a person who likes flaunting his looks and status, especially combined with the aforementioned facial expression. I think the facial proportions are good.
The colours are fit in well - not too little, not too much. The way that the light comes in from one angle while being heavily shaded on the other side gives the impression of him being a rather two-faced fellow; one who presents a pleasant face to the outside world but on the inside is gleefully planning of how to best destroy anyone who has ever slighted him.
The bronze/gilded shoulderpads are a bit peculiar when combined with the open vest, but gives a bit of a ' light-footed fighter'-feel. Does he enjoy duelling, simply likes the look of pads combined with light clothing, or is it that he is so confident in his own skill and athleticism that he doesn't mind fighting with a bare torso?
It is an atmospheric piece that I feel gives such a solid impression for what kind of person this character is, and the light/dark-effect is part of what makes it so effective. In most other artwork, I would have thought that the contrast between the lighter parts and the shaded one swould have been a tad stark, but it works well here.
Gold eyes work nicely for Aasimars and Tieflings alike.

Haha, sounds like some interesting characters : D I do like Aasimars and tieflings. As for the name, it's unrelated to that meaning but yes he's supposed to be a blend of Egyptian and Moroccan. If I recall, I just looked up a bunch of names from various countries and thought it sounded cool lol. Gave it no deeper thought xD
Thanks for the comment! ^^

Thanks a bunch! I appreciate the kind words! ^^
I do use Photoshop, I added some dotty texture to hopefully emulate pores and beauty spots but it's true that the skin feels generally too smooth o: Do you have any examples of the kind of texture that would make it more realistic?
Thanks for the helpful suggestions :3

There are many brushes out there that help, i, for example, use some rocky brushes to make the skin look less smooth (even though painting skin is a fairly new thing to me XD) but there are also some textures you can apply after the piece is done. You apply a layer, with the texture, above the final piece and set the layer mode to 'overlay' or any other mode you want. Here's an example of texture you can use for free, though you might have to put the credit in the description www.freepik.com/free-photo/yel… texture&page=1&position=1
Change the size and stuff to fit the character and you can also set the opacity to low, like 20 or 30. It's just a minor detail either way, so there's no need to go overboard
Another thing you could do is to not blend so much. i myself am guilty of overblending so i understand it. Let the strokes be visible and the extra smoothness will go away ^v^ From a close perspective, the strokes will look weird but, from afar, they will give the skin more life and give an painterly look to the piece! But it's just a preference and an idea, do what you think it's best while painting!!

Thanks for the info! I actually tend to blend much less usually but thought more realism might need more blending O: I guess I'll need to experiment to find the right balance ^^ Thx again ^^

For a simple portrait, it's a very beautiful one. Very realistic, especially the eyes :00
