Working wihin the thin portrait vignette format I chose to emphasise the verticals with this 3-point perspective. I like the fact that the wings start to get lost in the shadow, whilst back lighting adds drama.

One of the great things about your work is that you give insights into what you were thinking about as you set up the composition and some of the restrictions you were under. As someone who wants to work for wizards one day seeing these are great because they help me see more of the type of projects they commission. As always thanks for sharing. This guy looks great and I agree, the wings fading up into the darkness is a great effect.
