wow! thats really good but just one suggestion try adding shadows it'll make it look more relistic and more as if it were one picture. also love the wolf in the moon idea!

psychobitchua In reply to waruiTomodachi [2007-05-21 21:01:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, there are absolutely no shadows here. I suspected they had to exist back when I was making this one, but was never sure where to put them. I'm planning to edit the most visible mistakes in my earlier works soon. Thank you for pointing that out.

The stock picture was 100% what I needed. How often do you find a stock picture, which is just *it*? I just had to do something with it. Thank you for checking the tiny link I posted.

WHERE by the hell was this art before? I never never found it here!

It was right here all the time... since summer, I believe. You just didn't look very attentively.

I don't believe, sometimes DA hides the goodies. For your art I'm looking not like a raven, but like an eagle. With eagles eyes, you know? omg, where are my glasses?

psychobitchua In reply to Raine-de-Mer [2007-01-04 20:53:54 +0000 UTC]

I was sure eagle's vision is actually sharper than raven's vision... No, she for sure was still here, waiting to get more favs and comments. Evil dA monsters couldn't hide her, they were afraid of her axe.

Heya

Thanks so much for using my Polearm, I love what you have done to it. I wish I could take it out of the photo and put it on my wall

I really like you choice of colours for this image, it mixes in with each other very well.

psychobitchua In reply to ConjalPowernet [2006-08-15 19:04:19 +0000 UTC]

Is Polearm a spear or an axe? Educate me, I divide all cold steel into axes and swords and continue to miss annual cold steel exhibition in my city. I still dream to get there somewhere.
Again, thanks for providing such a realistic stock. I would be happy if I found a 3D model of something distantly reminding of an axe, and I found a real one. And glad that you liked the character and everything around her.

ConjalPowernet In reply to psychobitchua [2006-08-15 23:35:09 +0000 UTC]

From what I have found Polearm falls under the "Pole Class" of weapons which include an array of individual weapons. Such as, Spear, Bill, and Polearm. I would like to assume that if your cities annual shows had Pole weapons it would be stated.

Umm I had been thinking about creating my weapons in 3D, but I am busy and I an not sure on the delivery method using DA. If you can think of anything please tell.

Thanks

Thanks for the links. I used to think bill was closer to mace, not to spear.
I saw a few 3D weapon model sets on dA. They're good if you need them for a secondary role in the artwork. If they play a main role, I prefer photographs. They can distantly transfer the power of cold steel. At least I can feel it when I see them.
I looked for a simple arrow today, my quest was completely unsuccessful. I wonder if Fantasy-Stock has arrows. General search didn't point out on their existance in any gallery.
If you have free time for 3D models, will you take requests? (puppy eyes). Stock images don't normally provide crazy weapons I have in mind.

ConjalPowernet In reply to psychobitchua [2006-08-18 06:09:16 +0000 UTC]

I would be able to whip up an arrow in 3d if you would like... For other more complicated thing it might take some time because I don't get much free time.

I would be happy to look into some of your design ideas for the weapons though.

I will be *extremely* grateful if you helped me with an arrow. I didn't finish the artwork yet, it will take day or two. I'll wait for an arrow then, once you suggested. I tried to draw arrows using Photoshop, but as one can see from my "Horsemen of Apocalypse" artwork, I completely suck at that... I'll share my design ideas with you once I finish the present project, my brain is too busy with that. And once I'll find an English definition of the weapon "trizub", which distandly resembles the pitchfolk, only narrow one and with the center blade being longer.

Hello

Well I have finished the arrow, I just went with a standard design. I am not sure how you would like to get the images from me, I have a couple of different angles. Here is a link to see if you like it [link] .

If you want some other angles maybe you can give me you e-mail address and I can send it.

FantasyStock [2006-08-14 21:05:53 +0000 UTC]

THIS is why I stock photos for artists to use.

I can't possibly critique this. It's perfect. If I could complain about anything at all, it would be that I wish it were BIGGER. There are details, screaming to be seen at a larger view.

Otherwise, I really love what you've done! It's fabulous work!!

This weapon (I forgot its complicated name, pardon moi) was amazing, so thank you in return. Sorry for the size, I spent much time on character herself and some details got minimized.
Thank you for the wonderful comment (and a note), usually stock artists fave me without comments so I don't know whether they liked it or not. It's an inspiring comment, I really feel more confident with this work now. It looked a bit unfinished to me before.

As I was saying to you earlier, this reminds me of a character one would play in a video game. I love the pale monotone colors you used for the girl. She looks icy just like her surroundings. Very cool!

White gives me the creeps, but my hair is about fifty percent silver, so I can't let that color scare me too much.

Ah! I just dyed mine dark purple again and it's scary to confess, but I miss being a blonde or a redhead. I miss it so much, that it even brings me down. It's weird, I always liked my hair purple.
