Description Finally completed my reconstruction of the rhynchosaur Hyperodapedon, following a long weekend out of town. This is one of the largest and most-derived of the rhynchosaurs, a group of squat, lizard-like reptiles with keratinized beaks and unusual, almost triangular heads. The Triassic is known for its exceptionally weird and diverse non-dinosaurian reptiles, and Hyperodapedon is certainly a good example of this. It likely used its hind limbs to scratch and dig for roots/tubers. For inspiration as goes coloration, speculative scales and the eye, I looked at tuataras, mastigures, and arboreal alligator lizards.

Its feet look small for its size.

I really do like this illustration! It's one of the few reconstructions of a rhynchosaur that doesn't look really messed up!

Great depiction, hyperodapedon finally doesn't look like a huge rat - reptile
