heres a piece from artex [link] i thought id try something new...No maps of any kind, all extruded, inspired by a sample that came with 3dsm 5. enjoy EDIT: got rid of the arrows... ick

Whoa - those extrusions must have taken forever, unless you found some way to "copy" them around the sphere, as it looks like you might have been able to do.
Very impressive looking, even if it is just a sphere with a ton of Extrusion functions run on it
