I was in Greece once when it was 42. Was in the sea all day, snorkeling and saying hello to the fishes, and didn't come up until it got dark.
Grew up in northern Sweden and have experienced -42 as well. I liked the greek heat better.

-42!!! I am going to die from the cold if I only thought about it. Weather is always a hot in my country so that 49 is a normal working day and the coldest days of winter is 10 degrees celsius

I did actually go out that day (I wore a LOT of clothes), because it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime thing. And it was like another world. The air was so crisp and clear, everything was quiet (no cars would start that day) and everything was covered in beautiful, glittering frost.
