Description Lately I'v found out that Hayao Miyazaki announced making a new movie and he resigned from his retirement. This man is so amazing that I can't find words to describe it XD I just love him for this decision  And so here's my Laputa painting to celebrate this news

I'm a artist , my DA is just pixel art right now since I don't have a scanner, and a big fan Ghibli like most people....:>  but I was wondering how you created the effect for the background with the watercolors? I like how spacey it is, and I'm doing Steven universe fanart and it be useful since It's also spacey. if you learned it from a video a link would be wonderful, thanks
  also cute slendy dog ?!

It's wet on wet technique, I mixed black in the edges with very dark blue and the galaxy effect is made with light blue. Similar technique is used here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIrlcr… by ILLUSTRA Creations (really like this artist)

Thanks so much, I do know about wet on wet, but I get scared and think I'm gonna ruin the paper every time I try it. That makes no sense considering considering watercolour paper is nearly invincible as bistel board XD I'm going to take classes soon so I'm gonna get a bit more confidant

Good luck Watercolors are difficult to work with, but worth any effort

There's still a few of their films I haven't seen yet like The Cat Returns, Whispers of The Heart, Grave of The Fireflies and Ocean Waves.

Hiromasa Yonebayashi has started a new animation studio called Studio Ponoc. They're working on their first feature film here,  (Link)

I think I'll watch it. Though it's quite sad that Yonebayashi isn't making this movie for Ghibli :<

True but maybe it's for the best since Ghibli is suppose to take some time off from making films.
