I haven't done many art trades, but I have always found them to be a beautiful way to both get to know, and bless another artist. I have been following Namtia and her amazing work over several years and across several different platforms. She can be deeply thoughtful, playful and silly, vulnerable, geeky, or passionate... sometimes all at the same time. Yes, you really need to check out her work.

When we started talking about an art trade, I was scratching my head trying to think of something that would reflect not only my own work, but honor her as person and artist. I decided to take a page out of her book - literally. Namtia has done several pieces in the #paintthisinyourstyle meme, taking someone's reference image and transforming it in your own unique way, while still keeping the heart of the original. This figure, "Light", is one of her originals, which she has revisited several times over the years. I thought I would have a try at it. It pushed me out of my comfort zone in several ways, so I learned a lot in the process!

Perhaps, as she travels across the world to her new home in Hungary, she will bring with her grace, peace, joy, and light.
