Excerpt from Lost and Found - Groom's Men.

Cadenza: Cadenza found her left hand gripped around someone’s collar. Her knuckles pressed against a throbbing heat. A heartbeat under a thin jawline. She was on both knees, one hand pinning Roh down by the throat and the other halfway to reaping his adam’s apple well past harvest season. Her shivering breath was so close that its mist condensated on his face, each shallow exhalation a puff of white in the freezing air. The harder she tried to stabilize her grip, the more her limbs shook. The dream had yet to relinquish its hold on her. After all, everything was darkness to her. Asleep. Awake. That thin border between what’s fiction and what’s real slipped over her neck like a choke wire, and with it, brought Roh into the loop. A single drop of her cold sweat splattered onto him.

Roh (Moonania ): “C-Cadenza….” he called out calmly but his voice was raspy, his hands shaking as he tried to make his way to hers. He wanted to pull it away from her but it was not easy. She didn’t seem awake yet. Not herself yet.

“Cadenza….” he called out again. He managed to find her right hand that held the shears and placed his cold hand to try to wake her without causing her to jolt. He had to take this as calmly as possible but even his hands couldn’t help but shake in fear.

Jae-Hwa (makkakaus ): The only explanation he had for her sudden action was that she wasn’t fully awake yet, and he made to go wake her up. But what if it was something else? What if something was interfering with her, possessing her, or something was wrong with her magic? … He couldn’t do it. He didn’t dare. He tried to tell himself that it was not because he was avoiding her, not because he was unsure of where he stood with her now and was scared of finding out the answer, even though he didn’t want her to cut him off, but at the same him he didn’t quite want her at his side anymore-

“Dante!” He clutched at a sleeve, tugging his friend towards Cadenza’s direction. “Dante, Cadenza’s about to kill someone, please help-”

Dante: “Cadenza, no!" He grabs the girl and tears her off of Roh with force before wrapping his arms around her, holding her in a tight embrace before he dares to lift one of his arms and use his hand to stroke back some of the girls hair.

“Ssshhhhh….calm down, we are not going to hurt you, you need to snap out of it. You are alive.” He spoke with a hushed and soft voice, trying to calm down the girl in his arms and slowly loosens his hold on her, but not enough for her to escape. Not yet.

“Shhhh...it’s alright now...”
