Dwarves were amazed by the fact that Bilbo had used to travel to Rivendell in her tweens and to stay there, in its rich gardens, singing and dancing - just like the real elf, though she had been a hobbit. The elves of Rivendell had used to name her as the Little Bird of Gardens, Aew Sant, or simply Aewen - Little Bird-maiden. Although she had stopped visiting Rivendell after the Fell Winter, elves always believed that their Little Bird had been spared by frost and famine.
(I feel that it’s right to spell Aewen, not Aew-wen, because languages always try to get simplified, so… yes)
