I bawled when I read this. I'm told I sounded like my heart had been torn out. See, Harry?! I was right, the entire time, from Chapter 8 of the Philosopher's Stone to Chapter 32 and 33 of the Deathly Hallows! I told him, he just didn't listen - pages don't have ears, so they can't listen - but still!
I have always loved Snape - he was that tortured poetic soul that makes a novel awesome.
Lily never should have stopped being his friend... what a jerk.

I agree with you! Snape, in essence, is the perfect anti-hero/tragic hero. Does not want anything, lost someone he loved and appears as someone with no feelings or remorse whatsoever - until that moment where he gives up his life for someone that he did not seem to care about.
Praise to Ms Rowling for painting such an intriguing character with words

I haven't watched the Deathly Hallows Films but I heard of this scene and what Snape said. I'm not sure, if I'm okay with it... T.T

This actually made me shed a tear. It made me remember the last few chapters when Snape died and Harry viewed his memories. I like Snape, hell I think he's a total BAMF. But I could never see him paired with Lily, not even in fanfiction, I can only see him as her best friend, godfather to her children. But I can't see her with him at all, regardless of how horrible James Potter was, he grew up and tried to right his wrongs--it was implied anyway.
