Lasting only a short moment, it will protect her from most physical attacks as long as they’re not too powerful and may even repel them but it will aim randomly ; it’s only a matter of luck if the repelled attack actually hits the opponent back.

Sura is a very mischievous girl. She loves teasing and playing tricks on others, especially since she’s good at acting cute and inoffensive. Unless she has something to get from you (especially if it’s money), she won’t keep the act for long. Her behavior when she knows whether or not you have money to give her is really different, not to say polar opposite. She’s a realist person, not liking to give illusions of happiness. Life isn’t easy for everyone, and she has no reason to keep it down to avoid hurting naive goody-two-shoes, or so she says.

A true moneygrubber, she always finds a way to make people pay for anything she might do. Even if she doesn’t actually do anything. She also has a very sharp tongue which she knows how to use. She always hits where it hurts and she loves doing so. Sura is completely aware that she isn’t a ‘nice person’ but she hates being judged because of it, and is consequently anything but judgmental. To her, kindness is something only the rich or the lucky can afford. She did have Lady Luck on her side before, but she doesn’t plan on relying neither on her nor on other people. She doesn’t give her trust easily and doesn’t expect others to do so. Despite that, it can happen that Sura does good deeds but she usually will be careful about not being seen. If you are caught being nice once, you can be certain that people will come to you for help in the future, which she wants to avoid. Also, that and her past are two things she considers as her weaknesses and will prefer to keep them secret. Her life on the street taught her how easy it could be used against her, which is the reason she is very secretive. Along with that, she doesn’t peer on others’ secrets either. This is one of her few principles. That is as long as you don’t mess with her stuff, of course.

Her life on the streets didn’t only teach her to be wary of others, but also how to get others’ little mimics and such. She is perceptive and sharp, so it’s not easy to lie to her. More than that, Sura is a pretty smart person as well. Not very educated, she belongs more of the street smart category but she’s a fast learner. Even thought she was taught how to read and write at a late age, she caught up with it quite quickly and is now good at it.

In truth, Sura wasn’t born this way ; it was the environment she grew up in that hardened her. When she was little, she was cheerful, naive and wanted to help others a lot. However, life decided otherwise.

A woman found a really young girl, about 2 years old, starving on the road in the slums of Balbadd. Full of pity for that poor child, she took her in. She only wanted to give her some food and a little bit of money, even though she was poor, but her husband and her ended up getting attached to that little girl. She didn’t know anything but her name, “Sura”. They never had any children before, so they took care of Sura as if she was their own daughter. Despite their poverty, the girl grew up with love and care.

Around when Sura was 9, her parents finally gave birth to twins. Having more mouths to feed, and being out of the question to abandon any one of their children, Sura’s parents started to work more and more. However, they barely had enough to eat. Aware of her being adopted, Sura felt really guilty and started to work too. Since she was only a child, she could hardly find anything worth enough… Unless she went to the ‘bad parts’ of the slums. That’s how she learned how to scam people. Suddenly bringing more money that she was supposed to be able to earn, her parents got very worried. Yet, instead of stopping, she simply brought the same amount but in a scattered manner. Like that, it simply looked like she worked often.

Her family was able to live better, her parents were relieved, everything was going fine wasn’t it ? Well, not really. That ‘job’ of hers was dangerous, and she was too ‘nice’ to avoid trouble indefinitely. Sometimes, it was enough that the victim looked sad so that she’d give the booty back. She had been kind once too many times, and the result was that she ended up tied up in a river. Her ‘victim’ wasn’t as gentle as her, rather revengeful. As Sura was about to drown, she suddenly felt a burst of power and the next thing she knew was that she was at the bank of the river, still tied up but alive. Her binds which came loose not being that much of a problem, she hurried back home and told her parents about it but changed the story a little. Although very impressed, they were also sad that they couldn’t give her what she needed in order to reveal her true potential. On her side, the girl didn’t care much as long as her family was happy. She trained when she wasn’t working in order to become skillful enough to use her ability as a livelihood. Once that was achieved, she started to perform tricks for money, along with her others miscellaneous works.

It was during an ordinary day, Sura being 17, when she was performing that an old lady spotted her. She was a sorcerer looking for a young disciple to teach ; but not any kid from Magnoshuttat. She wanted to teach a youth that was still unpolished, that couldn’t get the instruction they deserved. Sura was there at the right place and the right moment. After her work, the old lady offered her to come to Algora with her, where she could exploit fully her potential. Sura was tempted but refused. She couldn’t leave her family, who needed her, behind. However, her siblings overheard the interaction and told their parents about it. Overjoyed, they pushed Sura to accept the invitation. They absolutely wanted her to go and start enjoying life as much as she could ; she had already done so much for them after all. Sura finally surrendered and accepted the old sorcerer’s offer under the condition that she would send money to them regularly. She was way too worried about them to simply let them without helping them in any way. This is how she ended up in Algora, where she found out her second magic under her master’s teaching. As for today, she still rips off some people of their money but in a more “legal” way. Also, she started to sell potions and such, taking advantage of her sorcerer position.
