Gender: Mare
Breed: Arabian X Unknown
Color: Silver Isabella Buckskin
Height: 15hh
Voice: Alyson Stoner
Faction: Olde
Rank: Knight
Orientation: Pansexual
Personality:
-Adventurous-
Very open-minded to new ideas, and setting out to do them. Any part of the land that may be mysterious, or dangerous, immediatly sparks her curiousity.
-Loyal-
Firmly follows all laws and orders of teh kingdom and their king. If any dare to talk poorly of the king or herd, she is more then willing to either verbally, or physically, find a way to quiet them.
-Pious-
Religious to a fault, Nef often loved hearing the tails of the unicorns as a foal, and firmly believes in them. Any who dare to see otherwise are foolish, in her opinion.
-Devious-
If there is anything in this world she wants, she will find a way to get it, and almost always in a underhanded way. She sneaks and lies to get her way, using her charm to win her what she desires.
-Vain-
From a young age, Nef had been very aware of her beauty, and did well to remind everyone else of it. Often taking long looks at her reflections, and working hard to make sure her coat shined so she could catch the eyes of others. The more eyes that were on her, the better she felt.
-Snide/Sarcastic-
Always ready with a comment, Nef is notorious for her backhanded compliments, and sarcastic eyerolls.
History:
-Birth-
Born in the early spring, Nef's parents, Amicus and Divina, we're over joyed with the new arrival they'd been blessed with. Divina was told many times she would never be able to produce a healthy foal, as she was cursed with infertility, though it never stopped her from trying. For many years, her and Amicus tried, with no success or sign of hope, turning to the best mages of the Olde Herd, and searching through old remedies and supposed cures, all with no solutions. After years of praying to the unicorns, and trying, with no sign of hope, it happened. They were blessed with a filly, and named her Nefertiti, which means 'beauty has arrived', to symbolize their relief to her great health and beauty.
-Early life-
As per tradition in Amicus's family, Nef was asked to start her training in becoming a mage. There was one horse in every generation of her family who would be a mage of some kind, since the magic ran through their blood. It was called a Unicorns Blessing in the family, and whomever sired the one foal to produce magic, would be as great and known as the foal themselves. The problem was, Nef never wanted to be a mage, nor had she shown a strong amount of even simple magic. Despite this, her father was sure she had a great gift, since he had no surviving siblings it WAS up to him to sire this Blessing. The stress of his family-line weighed on him, and so he forced it onto poor Nef. This caused many fights between the three of them. Being too young to be able to refuse, Nef was forced into the early lessons with the other foals.
Though to make up for this stress and to relieve some of the fights, her mother would take her out to the shattered lands in the spring and summer. The lands would be coated in flowers through most of these months, and they filled the air with their sweet aroma. This aroma gave both Nef and Divina a sense of peace, and soon became the happiest place to her. Her father always seemed to busy to come with them, since he was one of the healer mages to the kingdom at the time.
-Teenage Life-
The fighting had gotten worse as Nefertiti's hormones started to kick in, making her rages come and go without cause or reason. One night the fights were horrendous. Amicus, a peaceful and quiet stallion had been finally brought into yelling by the screams of his daughter. Her mother was sick, and Nef still had shown no real signs of magic, so the stress was on hard and heavy that night for the both of them. They both screamed insults until Nef was in tears and took off. Taking off for the City of Olde, she sought for the praying pool, which she had never bother to learn the path to since her parents always took her. Getting lost in the ruins of the city for at least an hour, she groaned, no longer crying, but still very frustrated, she kicked at a pile of rubble. The rubble gave way in a loud clatter, and she moved quickly out of the way, giving a soft yelp, which echoed out in the green covered city. Sighing and moving forward, she froze only after a few steps as a growl answered her. Turning to see the shining eyes of Vantana's Cougar looking into her own green eye's. Yelling out for help, she took off into the streets, weaving in and out of the trees that grew there, diving into streets and allies, in hopes of losing her pursuer.
Her worst fear became realized as she skidded to a halt in a dead end. Spinning quickly, she found the glowing eyes as the cougar panted heavily from the pursuit once more. Taking in a deep breath, she lifted her head to face her fate. Launching forward for the cougar, she was knocked aside by her father, who had charged up from behind. Knocked off her feet, she tumbled into a building as he entered combat with the fierce beast. Not being able to find her feet, she just watched as her father threw spells and kicks and the cougar returned to him each time and slashed at him. "GO!" He bellowed at her, and in either instinct or fear, she rose to her feet and took off for home.
When she returned, she paced in their little place in the wood, Divina watching her worriedly, after hearing the story. She was laying on the ground, since the illness had made her weak. Nef watched the horizon as she paced, ear's flicking to every sound in the wood. Her heart fell as dawn rose hours later, and no sign of her father had come. Heartbroken, the mare's wept for him that day, but it was short lived. As the week progressed, Divina was taken under deaths wings as well, as a broken heart on top of her weak condition proved too much for the mare.
Nefertiti, now alone in the world, turned back to her studies to be a mage until her 13th year. On her 13th year, she saw the advisers for her trials, to see how she would be placed in the ranks of the herd. Since she had shown no signs of a magical gift yet, she was found to be a knight, rather than the mighty mage her father so hoped for her to be.
