Yeah, I'm not mostly into TV-show fandom (I'm 55 and grew up on books; we only had a 13" B&W TV, yadda yadda) but I'll admit Methos is the *only* character who, when a friend said "You'll love this guy," I actually did.

Over 900 channels, and nothing worth watching.

Well, to my taste Sherlock's worth watching (the BBC one), but since they make three episodes a year max, that kinda limits the viewing time.

I haven't seen that one, but I do watch a lot of British mysteries.
Several of my favorites include: Inspector George Gently, Foyle's War, Lewis (spinoff of Morse), The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Midsomer Murders (aka: Inspector Barnaby); all of which are really good. ^_^
