Mia4 sent a link out to your gallery... and I'm so glad I followed it! It's great to see another person who is creative in making their own "home studio" I am a master now at using desk lamps, cellophane (for gels), and different bed sheets for backgrounds. hahahhaha
This shot is absolutely amazing. The depth of field is perfect, and the crop of the flower shows just enough to highlight the detail but keeps me wanting more! The light behind the petals on the upper right may be a bit too hot... the petals are merging into them... but other than that, this is simply awesome.
The choice of framing is stunning and classic as well.

Glad you stopped by and left your comment.
As far as working on the 'home studio'... I really enjoy the creative process of trying to setup a shot with only my available elements. Sheets, paper, lamps, lights, curtains, mirrors, etc. Some may call it amature, but i would call it creative and fun.
Anyway, thank-you kindly.

beautiful, the flower just peeping up into the photograph, the background and borders are just perfect the way you've done it. And that flower is peeking up especially to make me smile!

Mmmm, I really think you've captured the happiness you were intending to here. I think it's not necessarily pure happiness though. Because when I look at this photo, i'm not filled with happiness, I'm filled with hope. It seems to scream "life" to me and when I look at it, i'm filled with feelings of life, of development, of prosper... and it's in turn these feelings, when considered as one which brings happiness to mind.

a friend of mine commented when i was taking photographs of all the dirt pain and suffering of cubans: "there is so much suffering. it is much easier to take photographs of suffering than of happy". while i did argue i can see a bit of truth there.
i think you've done a great job in capturing happy. yellow, happy, sunny. sometimes we all need that.

While I do agree that it is easier to photograph pain and sadness, I think thats mostly psychological conditioning... people tend to always look at the bad things, rather than the happy. News, photographs, dramas, life... all revolve around the negative aspects of life, the wars, the fighting, the hate, the pain.
*sighs*
"i think you've done a great job in capturing happy."
That was my intention, and I'm glad it shows through... it's nice to have a change of view.

Many thanks!
Hmmm, I have a print account that I've never used.
Perhaps I should submit this one...
Should I keep the border for the print, or crop it?

How I do my framing? Well... hard to say.
How I develop my frames depends on the image itself. They vary between 7 and 18 layers, and each frame is only used for that one image.
Wish I could give details, but there isn't any set formula.
Anyway, glad you liked

i like the melding of the background, its its chaotic blurryness, and the foreground, with its nice perspective. also the color scheme is very "natural" with the easy yellows, greens, and oranges. also the border is superb. a nicely delivered photo. great.

Oddly, I don't feel the happiness. But it is truly beautiful and think the title of Unpain is completely appropriate.
Something other than pain, not really happy, beauty and conflict in the same piece. Outstanding!

I wish this image could make you happy, but to be quite truthful... this was posted in an act of selfishness... it wasn't supposed to make you happy; it was an expression of my happiness.
Either way, glad you liked.
