Unfortunately, one of my little chickens passed away today. Blair, the Barred Rock. She had started limping late Tuesday night, early Wednesday morning. At first she was eating and drinking on her own still, but eventually all she wanted to do was sleep. I had given her a bit of boiled egg yolk as I read that was good for sick or weak chicks, but today when I woke up she was breathing very shallowly and was so weak she couldn't even hold her head up or make any peeps. I warmed up a blanket in the dryer and held her, intending to use an eye dropper to give her some water, but she was just too far gone and died in my arms. We buried her in the back yard.

This picture was taken yesterday afternoon. The rest of the chicks are perfectly fine, even trying to jump out of the cage to get to me. I don't know what could've caused the limp, I had touched her all over and there were no obvious signs, no bones protruding, no bruising or discolorations. I assume it was a sprain or a pulled muscle. Either way, I did everything I could think of to help her but none of it worked.

Anyway, I'm just really sad and upset with myself right now but I thought in should update everyone since I posted a picture font them the other day.
