So very beautiful. I was lucky enough to witness the Aurora in Norway earlier this year. There is nothing that can compare, is there? Really takes your breath away.

i live in northern germany where we don`t have these lights - but about twenty years ago, i had a musical session with friends until late at night, and when i went out to get some fresh air, i looked up and thought how beautiful the evening sun shone on the clouds... then i realized it was after midnight and that it werent`t the clouds that were red, but the sky in between which should have looked black... there it was, a blood-red sky with stars... i immediately thought: oh, boy now they`ve dropped the bomb! well, i wasn`t sure if i hadn`t simply smoked too much, haha... one of my pals came out and i asked him shyly if he saw that as well... he did!
oh, i didn`t feel comfortable at all, the more because that red colour wouldn`t vanish... when i drove home i kept looking at the sky, and at the very moment when i reached my place, the colour suddenly changed into green, just like here on the picture, and started to race across the sky in waves at tremendous speed... i left the car and stood watching for quite a while... i felt absolutely relieved, because now i new what it was... one funny thing to me me was, that i somehow expected to hear something, haha - but the night stayed calm and silent...
this was the only time i saw northern lights and it was awesome...

Da hast Du aber ziemliches GlΓΌck gehabt.
Vor allem ist das hier das schΓΆnste Bild, das ich von dieser Aurora (St. Patrick's Day Abend) gesehen habe. Der vom Sonnenuntergang noch leicht rote Himmel gibt dem ganzen einen echt herrlichen Kontrast. WunderschΓΆn.

they were my first northern lights and it was just overwhelming.

It became so common for me working all night for three winters up in Fairbanks, that by the third winter...I woud hardly look up. As MUCH that is.
