And yet, for all of man's achievements, his expansion into the stars, his wonders, they will not last. Man has begun to lose what had always mattered since the beginning. Love, communion, understanding, and balance. Now, that is gone, and man is but a husk of what he once was. Once, the actions of a sole individual mattered, but among countless trillions, his life now means nothing. Woe to mankind, for though we move forward in time, we are only falling behind further.

Even if something mattered since the beginning doesn't mean it always has to matter in order to retain some abstract essence of "humanity". Perhaps, in this strange age of countless trillions, it is finally time to transition into something completely new and different.
