Face your fears expand past them and learn something. I like the "scary" or fierce nature components to this construct. It asks you to deal with some primal forces while tying in "civilization" albeit perhaps in the light of a mysterious culture through the tattoo art iconography. Everything is a teacher. Thanks for your cool art!
