Yesterday, I say ~MamaMisho had drawn up his own interpretation of a Spiral Knights armor set based on the Silkwing.[link]
It's super cute, and inspired me to take my own crack at it!
Often, temptation for monster armor is to make a straight up costume of that monster. Like a metal and bolts mascot version of the beast. Instead, I like to take the Monster Hunter approach, and try and figure out a suit of armor that shares visual elements as adornment or functional.
I feel the wings really lend to a kimono or summer festival attire, so I ran with that. The magenta bits would recolor to the knight's personal color. Used the Boosted Plate Mail color scheme for the rest.

you know what might be kinda cool, is if the trail ends of the bow followed behind the charitor, not wings per say but mimiking them in silk so thay move arond and stuff as if fluttering when the knight moves arond.

I think it is meant to fit the SK theme, which is basically (IMO) survival on Earth. I still think it looks pretty elegant and is made for those who strike fast? I'm not sure about possible stats, all I know is that the collar seems to be a recurring theme among some SK outfits. :3 I hope they add this and I'll stick my wallet into my PCs CD Drive!

Makes my day every time you post Ian. Your style is just so much fun to look at(fun enough that I took a hack at it a few months ago [link] ). I especially like all the Spiral Knights concepts you put up. Really want to make an ashtail armor costume for halloween this year. As cool as Snarbolax and Skolver are, I dunno, I've just always had a place in my heart for the soft grays of Ashtail.
