El-Sato drew up a fun image of my personal character for the game I work on, Spiral knights. I really enjoyed what he created, so I thought I'd pay the favor forward and draw up some one else's character.The above results is MamaMisho's design done up in El-Sato's style. (Or at least, as close as I was able to get to his style.) I like to examine people's works and see how close I can get to recreating it, hopefully learning a few things along the way. Hopefully my attempt isn't an insult to his works.
I rather dislike inking, so there was a certain challenge in doing that. I don't feel like I nailed the lighting style at all though.

It's funny that you say you hate inking since I always had a folder full of MacHall pages to reference off and use as my goal when I was learning to ink back in the day

My hands are incredibly far from steady, so inking has always been a source of frustration for me. That's why Mac Hall eventually 'evolved' to the point where inking wasn't part of the process. I'll also point out that I didn't own a Wacom or anyother tablet until I started working at Three Rings. So the entirety of Mac Hall is done with a mouse. (Re: Lots and lots of poly-lasso tool)
