Graduation is suppose to be happy...

and not depressing but that is not what this graduation was this year.

Everyone knows how it is when you're graduating. You're pumped up, excited, ready to face the world. Worst of all you feel invincible. That's how 5 teenagers felt the night before graduation when they decided "Let's take a joy ride out in the middle over the night." A joy ride going 70 MPH over railroad tracks where the road dropped right on the other side. A joy ride where the car lost control and veered off the road into a ditch, hitting a tree, flipping. A joy ride that killed three instantly, a senior due to graduate, and two juniors. Later the morning after graduation the fourth, another senior, died as well. The fifth girl, only sixteen, in the hopsital, awake talking, walking around but doesn't remember a single thing. Looking at the wreckage this girl shouldn't even be alive right now. Someone was looking out for her.

Two football players, a boyfriend and girlfriend, best friends since fourth grade, all went down together just for having a simple fun time that was also dangerously stupid and reckless.

Yes I did happen to know the two seniors as well.

The entire town is torn up. I didn't go to my graduation for my own reasons, but now I'm thinking that would have been a pretty miserable time. Graduation as I said is suppose to be happy and this year definitely was not. I thought to myself at the senior meeting when the showed pictures of the girl from our class who was killed in an accident in 10th grade and thought she was the only one we lost, who never made it to the end. Spoke to soon. Anything can change in a short amount of time.

Down by the fire station there's a big blue and white (our colors) on the sign, and every stop sign, street sign, telephone pole, and pretty much every other house in the town has ribbons all over. Places are giving out free ribbons. The school is decorated all over with ribbons and notes, bears by the school sign. The accident site is decorated with dozens of things. This whole area is just deemed depressing and it's only be cold and cloudy on top of it all.

It's absolutely horrible, whether they did it to themselves or not. It's just... I don't even know. Just thinking of someone who you knew, and seen probably every day, maybe talked to and their just gone it's weird to think about. I can't even imagine what it's like for the people close to them. I haven't ever lost anyone in that way and I don't ever ever want to.

I kind of just want to disappear from my dark gloomy town. It's so overwhelming.
