I don't imagine her as a "Dumb Blonde" type of girl (definitely not Meraud's type). This is how I imagine her: sweet, smart, funny, loves animals and kids, can be aggressive (and hot-tempered) when she needs to be, knows how to fight and is also good at archery.

Definitely! I imagine that if Disney had made Merida guy, it would be the same for the most part---but I can see Elinor giving Meraud (male!Merida's name) a bit more freedom, but still wanting to behave like a "proper prince," the triplets being girls and maybe them actually giving Meraud a love interest.

On one handhe would have more freedom on the other hand more responsibility. How crude it may be... Merida is still a girl so isn't as involved in the ruling and politics as Meraud would have to be. Granted Elinor and Merida are both badasses and no weak women that would sit quietly

Meraud is a nice down to earth guy. Even if he realises his feelings are more than a friendly fondness I doubt he has a clue how to act on them.
