YAY! DRAWING! Yeah it's been a while since I submitted anything here... I drew this creature, which is a "mating type" of a modification of a precious creature I made, called "Trio"'s. Mating type is in quotation marks because she doesn't really have a very large contribution to the genetic make-up of the offspring, in fact all she can do is to provide a medium for embryos to grow, she just takes fertilized eggs from "worker" females and grows them inside her body, and sometimes adds a minute fraction of her own genetic material to the womb.Anyway, it took MUCH longer to fancy the drawing in Photoshop than I expected, I think it took more than 7 hours or something in total. But I'm satisfied

I really like the mixture of traditional and digital techniques in this. It still looks overall like a traditional piece, but I think the digital editing provides a 'clean' look. Nice job.

Thanks! Yeah, I was thinking about uploading the pencil drawing too. It was really fun to do all the digital parts too (although it was a bit frustrating since I'm not very familiar with photoshop and all I used was brushes and layers really) I think I'll do this more often.

You're welcome. Β Brushes and layers are the most important parts to Photoshop. Β One thing I have noticed in my more recent attempts to try out all the different kinds of brushes (along with some additional downloaded ones) is that I really think I like the basic circle brush the best.

Well that's good to know. I'm still pretty slow, and that's what bothers me, and I'm still not very good at shading. I'll need to practice, but it's comforting to know that brushes and layers are pretty much all I need

Learning Photoshop takes time. Β I'm still learning new things after several years (and I use it for entirely digital artwork).
