This African Griffin is a lion for the feline half and a secretary bird for the avian half. I put up a vote for what kind of bird to do on Twitter and secretary bird won by a large margin. When I sat down to make this I had every intention to do gray like the bird and even dug out the gray fur, but then I had this tail already made and on hand and that led me to do the pelt all lion colors.

The feathers this time are something new, stiffened felt, which I dunno why I did not think of this before or have seen it used, it holds its own very well with only the upright most feathers needing an EVA foam spine just at the very base, and I can bend the heck out of these without them flopping. The eyelashes are also stiffened felt. Do be careful not to get the felt wet as I have been told it can loose it's shape.
The beak is custom painted and while it has a coat of lacquer be very very careful with it so as not to scuff the paint off.
The jaw is semi moving and by that I mean it opens wide and can close all the way but it does not want to snap closed as the base was not intended to handle the weight of resin teeth in addition to the silicone tongue.
A fan can be added for an additional price.
