Description Briar Rose

In most classic fairy tales, the good female character is smart and loveable, but most importantly, she is beautiful. After taking inspiration from fashion photographers, designers, and models, I wanted to portray these heroines as the classic yet modern beauties that they are.


This is one of five pieces as part of my junior thesis project.

Briar Rose is a lovely fairytale---if not one of the less heard ones. I was so surprised when I discovered it that it hadn't been mainstreamed as well as the others now in popular culture.

Your work here does a fantastic job of illustrating the sense and feel of the story, as well taking some of the more abstract curves of it and simplifying it for us. Thanks so much for sharing, and good luck on your thesis!

Awesome! I like the amout of skulls, and the roses among them. I also love the contrast between the dark bg and her pale skin and hair. Beauty, love and death are always together
