Description
The Jungle Hawk-owl (Ninox theomacha) is a small species inhabiting the lowland and mid-montane forests of Papua New Guinea. The nominate subspecies is illustrated here, other subspecies have much lighter, almost whitish, underparts with bold chesnut brown streaking.
