Description Not sure what to call this yet. But I really loved how it turned out. I used India ink for this for inktober.

This is absolutely beautiful!!!
If you don't mind telling me, how long did it take for you to make this?

Thank you! this one took me almost 4 hours. I was surprised by how short it was to complete it. I think it was because I used India ink instead of regular watercolors. The ink is heavily pigmented and vibrant so I didn't have to add layer upon layer.

Really? Only 4 hours!!! I'm amazed and in awe!
Are India inks basically like watercolors?
Do they act different in any way?

sorry for my additional questions. I'm considering getting some, but I'm not sure if I should
You don't have to answer these questions if you don't want to

Thank you! hmmm....they can be used to paint like watercolor but they do have differences. Since it's ink it's liquified unlike watercolors. Giving you the ability to also write with them using calligraphy pens or paint(what I like to do) in a similar style to watercolors. Like I said before, he colors are vibrant and heavily pigmented, watercolor paint....not so much. If you want something more soft I would suggest watercolor paints. They're not as pigmented but the paintings always come out soft and delicate and if you make mistakes while painting it's easier to remove the marks than with ink. If you want something more vibrant/colorful or bold, I would suggest the India ink. If you paint in a watercolor style with the ink, definitely use a little at a time since the colors are so bold and not as easy to remove if you were to make a mistake. Overall, I would suggest getting the India ink. I enjoyed the color selection I had and how beautiful it turned out as a painting. The brand I got is Bombay India ink. This is from four years ago XD but I'm sure they have this brand or better ones at art stores. The pigment may settle at the bottom of the bottle but don't worry, you can shake it up and be Good to go.
Oh no, you're fine! I actually like these types of questions! Makes me feel like I actually know things XD lol

You're welcome! Thank you for providing so much information!
I feel super informed now India inks definitely sound like
a great medium for art. I'll definitely try them out when I get the
time to do so! Another thing, would it be possible to dilute the ink
before you start using it? Like not in the actual bottle it comes in,
but in a separate container. This way it might not be as bold when
you use it.

I'm glad you don't mind the questions. And you do seem to know
a lot to me!

Sorry for the late response! I've been quite busy these last couple days.
hmmm....I'm not sure since I'm not expert with these inks, but I do know that when I'm going for that watercolor style I just put a drop or two of the ink on my palette and water it down a lot so it's not so strong.

You're fine, so don't worry! I understand if you're busy
Oh, so that's how you achieve the watercolor style! Thank you very
much for telling me all of this!

You're welcome! Yeah, I'm definitely no professional with these inks but there may be a way to dilute them in a separate bottle using another solution if you look around on google
