I've decided to not include John in this painting just so that it would be easier for you to see how this came to be through my WIPs.. but I think I might make one with John too.. with sherlock or alone, not decided yet.. maybe both.. .. both is good xD

Firstly, nothing to 'criticize' about. And like a speechless, wide eyed fan of your art, and that being only the first one I came across, let me try to express what made me so.
1. The sunlight on the hair. The soft glow. The messy mop at the front, being typical Cumberbatch.
2.The skin tone. That's him too.
3.The expression. Those eyes. The arrogance.
4.The contrast brought in by the use of negative space.
And the only thing that could have been here as well, is a little more protrusion of his cheek bone. Benedict Cumberbatch has got the hell of cheekbones.
And yes, that it looks actually like a photograph, adds to the pure awe.

This was just a jaw dropping, breath taking piece of work.
When I saw it I honestly thought it was a photograph, I'm still not sure if you are just lying about it being a painting its that good. Whatever you are doing keep doing it because you paint better then some professionals I have seen.
Everything you have done in this photo, I don't even know how to describe it the hair, clothes, eyes it all just looks so real! You have a great skill and I would hate to see it put to waste. I'm not sure if I can express how much I love this but it has been the best Sherlock piece of art I have seen.

I think I've run out of synonyms for amazing. But that's what it is.. Wow, I can't believe it's a PAINTNG! The details are just perfect; lighting and all. I especially love how you did his hair.. squee. ^_^;
His eyes look alive. You captured him so brilliantly.
Like the other critique suggested, it looked just like a picture when scrolling through the smaller list of these.
This painting definitely deserves the attention it gets. I honestly cannot describe how lovely this is. xD Well I probably could but words wouldn't do it justice. Absolutely fantastic.

It is EXCELENT. From A distance, it could be mistaken for a picture taken by papparatzii or whatever. A Good picture.

This painting has soul! That was the first thought I had when I saw it.

Wonderful piece of work, you got the brightness of his mind and the darkness in his soul in the same picture. Excellent composition, skin tone knocks my socks off. In all, beautiful!

I prefer realistic art that is one step away from a photograph -- but that one step has to capture what a photograph can't...the soul. Here you not only captured a perfect image, you have the expression -- the emotion that is intensified by your choice of highlight and shadow. The focus on his face and the strong lighting hints at both the characters brilliance and his darkness. This is an extremely well done piece.

I saw this and my first thought was it has to be a photo, then I looked more closely, there are very subtle differences, mostly just the lighting around the hair, though I'm not really criticizing that either, it's not in a bad way at all. This is absolutely amazing, I love it!! More Please?
