Without a watermark, people rip everything and sell them on ebay, I like to download art to make into my own wallpapers. Selling on for profit, however is wrong without the originators permission.

To be honest, watermarks do nothing in these situations.
For the guy that's selling this on eBay it is fairly easy to remove those and at the end it just makes the art look worse for the fans.
It's a pain in the ass, but places like Etsy can actually permanently ban sellers that do this, same goes with amazon. eBay is the big problem where people can have an infinite amount of accounts.
