This is probably the first real "emotional" piece I've done for a while. I was feeling really peaceful and was listening to this song and thus this came out...It's Rikku from my project. He has a pretty horrible past of abuse from former owners, so when he was bought and put on the expedition it was his first real taste of peace.
I'm trying to add a lot of depth to the characters that will be in this story that I'm retelling... so far I'm really enjoying his character.

... he's a Sakhalin Husky isn't he... why would there be a Akita in the arctic??... SOOO SORRY!! I need to expand my canine knowlege!!

LOL yeah he's a Sakhalin Husky - but because there are probably only about three pictures of that type of husky out on the internet I've had to just blend breeds together :\ I've been mostly referencing the Canadian Eskimo Dog because they have that nice big fur coat, however, I did try to make him look more like an average husky just to help differentiate him from the other characters.
Have you ever seen the movie Eight Below? The project I'm working on is to make a graphic novel retelling the actual story of the Japanese Expedition that had gone down there. Sadly, there isn't a lot of information about it except the dogs names and that they were Sakhalin huskies.

WOW! This picture is so amazing! Rikku looks so incredibly realistic, totally an Akita! His fur looks so real, and it's all placed perfectly! It's even blowing in the wind! I especially love his tail, all curled over and scruffy <3
And his face... I know how hard it is to put emotional expressions into canine faces without making them seem unrealistic and human... (At least for me!) but dang, you nailed it! He looks so incredibly peaceful and content, yet that is the perfect Akita face! And that light- brown marking on his face is perfectly placed and coloured!
But what blow me away the most, is that FANTASTIC anatomy!! He could not look any more like an Akita. You have seriously mastered anatomy!
Plus, great job on the background! It gives off the perfect peaceful mood. Especially the sparkling Arctic wind blowing. and how the clouds look like they have just parted.

Working on it! I got lazy. Plus some groups have all those weird rules where you're only allowed one or two submissions a week so I have to go and read and blah blah blah excuses.

Yeah I guess it is a lot easier to find them for cosplays since there are so many honestly. Almost too many groups to tell the truth, but that's okay, the more the better!
