I have a questions thatβs been bugging me since getting into these. At what dimensions do you recommend drawing at? Is there a preferred image size for pixels or do you go by paper dimensions such as, for example 8.5x11 inches or 9x12 inches? Iβve honestly looked everywhere for these answers but I canβt find anything.

It seems to be a useful precise and easy to understand tutorial.Probably the best I've seen so far. Will use it to create my sprites. Thank you.

hey there really like the tutorial but i'd like to ask a question that's bugged me for awhile. when you draw the sprites what size do you start of at? and is there a shrinking process involved when a sprite is added to the visual novel?

The problem with me is the outlines >w< But your tutorial really helped me to create my first sprite!
How is it? I know it's not as good as yours, but still! :3 Thanks for the reply!Β

It's good! The pose is solid and there are a good amount of expressions which makes it more lively.
Good luck with your project!

Nice and useful tutorial but I feel you didn't mention something small but can make your characters look more alive when changing facial expressions. For example a slight shift in the hand position or the tilt of the neck, small things like that doesn't dramatically change the pose.

Thank you.
I didn't include thoseΒ because they will be included in my next tutorial, which will also cover clothing and hair variations and how to optimize layering for that and how to export those properly.
