Description The fourth design in my Fairy Tales and Folklore collection, Sleeping Beauty.

I had a spot of truble with this one. I've been battling a mini artist's block with the remaining designs and it's taken me a while to get back on track. Add to that that the fabric that I originally wanted to use for the dress didn't really fit with the look I was after and it didn't really match the rest of the collection either.

Any ways, onto the design:
The outfit consists of a moss green capelet with wide collars and a pocket with a gathered/elasticated edge made out of heavy wool. It would close with one big, moss green button.
Underneath is a shortsleeved linen A-line dress with white embroidery on the hem.
White cotton slip, white tights and black velvet mary-janes like in previous outfits.
_______
Technical stuff:
Like before, a mix of markers, colouring pencils, gel pen and PhotoShop. The texture of the dress is the same I used for the Snow Queen coat, only in brown. Actual linen doesn't seem to scan too nicely, or then my scanner just hates me.

Thank you!
I really love your style too. It's how I'd like to be able to paint if I actually could paint properly (I mostly just make it up as I go along).

I make it up too And your sense of design is enviable - I cannot design clothing the way you do, its like my brain isnt hardwired into the ability.

absolutely blown away by the face.
I love the extra squinty eyes.
the puffy redness with the gleen of white.
freckles, short red hair, and huge ears.
I would say, "take me to the prom!", then I would run and hide.
kit.

i love the style of your characters.... you should get some company deal to make them into plushies coz those would be freaking cute!
there's a pillow/blanket company princess that makes crown pillows and stuff like that... i so see your princesses going on the plushie line!

i like the pose in this one. I would love to get my hands on a stash of those large moss green buttons (you see, i'm a button fanatic!) and oh yes, those shoes too. very cool.

I'm a button addict too!
I actually have a big moss green button, but the darn thing is chipped (it's missing part of the edge) and thus not much use.

:] your designs are all adorable. they're not the least bit unrealistic, and i could easily picture them on people.

you're also very detailed in describing the outfits, so it's easier to conceptualize in its entirety.

Thank you.
I do my best to design stuff that would be possible/easy to make in real life. One of the first things we were taught in school was that you can design the most fantastical outfit ever, but if it can't be actually made and worn, it's nothing more than a pretty drawing.
I also like to think that my designs will look good on "normal" people no matter what body shape they might be. I'm against designing stuff that will only look good if you're skeletally thin since most of the people who would hypothetically wearing the clothes won't be so.

I like the hair, and the caplet is once again cute! I could see Agyness Deyn wearing this nicely. Only with red hair.

You are aware that I have to Google all these models you mention?

I'm so out of the loop when it comes to fashion it's not even funny. There was a time when every spare moment was spent browsing through fashion mooks (Collezioni, how I miss thee!), and now it's a miracle if I grab a fashion mag at the newsagents once every blue moon.

I wouldn't think that. You know so much about sewing and fabrics, so I assumed you were like a fashion addict.

I'm a costume designer/costumier by training, so the fabric & sewing knowledge comes from that. Current fashion on the other hand, I am very much out of toutch with.
