Description

This is my last model built in Rhino 5. After a couple of years embedded in the best modeler I have ever used, I have decided to move forward. As of next week, or my next beer, whichever comes first, I will be using Rhino 6.

Maxwell Render has been upgraded by the good folk at Next Limit, meaning it is now compatible with Rhino 6! I have been waiting a long time for this.

OK, the last R5 Model, what is it? It is A Confederate Gun Cart. Used in the latter stages of the β€˜Great War of the Plains’ predominantly in the Battle of the Machines in Texas, where they proved surprisingly reliable, and considering their meagre numbers, very effective!

These small lightly armoured but heavily armed traction engines were maneuverable and comparatively quick. In the smoke, dust, noise and confusion of the battle, the Gun Carts were able to outflank the lumbering landships and wreak havoc in the Union rear, then attack the landships from behind, where their hand cranked rotating rapid-fire guns ripped into the piping of the exposed boilers. Steam suddenly released under extremely high pressure did the rest. The landships quite literally, blew themselves apart.

Fun design. So many neat details to focus in on, while keeping a distinct overall shape.
