First, sorry that it took me so long to comment on your drawing.
One reason it that's I just can't find out what's wrong here. I mean, anatomy is really OK (from what little I know of xenos), and well, you're so used to draw them that you capture them really well. [OK for his too thin right leg, but it goes sketchy in that part]
Perhaps it's the technique per se you're ill-at-ease with? But from what I see, the shading is good, no problem here.
Perhaps you would like something with more neat contour, somethink less sketchy? You might want to use a harder pencil, and use the less hard ones (2B and more) only for the darkest areas?
Grrr I've the feeling I'm of no help here O_o

Oh yes, 2B and 4B certainly explain much ^^ You should use 3H for the initial sketch and then use 2B for shadowing. And 4B if you want for darkests parts ^^
You're welcome

Thanks!
Yeah, both legs came out thinner than intended. On the sketch they were good, but I kinda fucked up the shading and the smoke effect... yeaaah... aside from that, can you see anything else that is off? The xeno looks weird to me and I can't seem to find the mistake
