I love this! But may I ask why is the other a crow and what does it mean when your heart is picked apart?

I chose a crow/grackle because it is a type of bird that is just as common as a sparrow, but is considered to be far more beautiful and intelligent. I wanted that to parallel how some people think that they are inherently better than others, despite the fact that we are all human and carry the same value.
As for the heart, I really was just going for the idea of having it slowly torn out, piece by piece, though the crow/grackle is looking away and doesn't fully realize it.

I see. Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it, as well as your art (:
and may I say that we are subjected to similar fate.

I've been playing Hatoful Boyfriend recently, so this really hits home.
Really nice.

So, the string in the other bird's beak... was that threaded or colored? I can't quite tell! The details seem great to me! (I'm not a bird expert, so take that as you will.) I actually saw this on facebook and just HAD to see your description of your work! AWESOME!

I came across this piece through DeviantArt's Facebook page, and it was justly showcased on it. It's a really nice piece of work, and I don't always click into the work, even if I do share it on Facebook, but I had to check if there'd been sewing involved, and knowing there had been made it that much more powerful to me.
This will sound cheesy, but you can tell that there is a symbolic element to the piece that is personal, which you established in your description. You can really feel that.
Other than that it's very well done. Not perfect, but nothing in this world is. It's gotten a lot of well deserved attention and praise, keep working hard, you did a great job
