An older card I intended to use for contest on a different site, but decided not to participate in the end. Lovely reference of fav.me/d31v3rm by brenbren was used for realism practice at first... I didn't like the outcome, so the paper was reused by washing away most of the paints and putting down mostly clear, staining colors in a single wash... Then mingled over some more, washed and repainted, dark background worked on smoothly, then washed away, then painted on in textured manner... In the end, the card was worked over what seems like a thousand times! D: The ref was used for sketch/first painting (the one washed away) and detailing of completely last version of it, so it looks quite different! But that's a good thing, I certainly do not strive to be a photorealist. However, I have to say the paper handled it really beautifully- this is a huge strength of cotton papers! In th end, some wear from my roughhandling was evident, but it endured at least 10 times as much abuse as the other papers I have worked on in the past would!
