A sneak peak from this upcoming Chapter. Verando stands over Gunshy, unsure what her state is but it doesn't look very good.

"The rope pulled on Verando's thick neck, he listened to the commotion behind him. 'lease don't fight it my love...' he said to himself and offered the frightened filly a hopefull glance. CRACK! Verando leaped forward, terrified. What was that sound?! He looked back to see his beloved splayed out upon the ground. Her front legs bent, hurt.. broken. She had fallen into a very large turtle hole and her front legs had suffered. Verando's eyes widened. "Gunshy!" he whinnied, pulling at the rope, bucking, rearing, he wanted to go to her, comfort her until her breath left her. "Get that stallion moving, the last thing we need is to loose both of them." The wrangler grumbled, "'Sa shame, she was a pretty filly..." he loaded his gun. Verando shook his head, "I won't leave you Gun." he neighed, pulling, harder. Gunshy peared up at him threw the tangle of her curly forelock, her ambery eyes dulling. "It hurts...." she managed, weak from the fighting, the running and the fall. She whinnied to him and Verando turned to fight the rope but before he could do anything to help his beloved, the gun went off and everything went silent."
