A melting pot of countless species, cultures and religions, the spaceport of Chaïra offers crew members on shore leave a wide variety of pleasures after the relative monotony of sailing the solar winds through the emptiness of space for months at a time.
Most popular among all of Chaïra’s attraction is the Great Bazaar. Built below the arches and passageways of the old port center, merchants offering up their wares in small stalls and shops try to get an upper hand on their competitors by offering up more and more exotic wares ranging from small trinkets to spices, animals, food and drinks, weapons, artifacts and even people.
Drinking in excess, drug use and visits to pleasure establishments or not uncommon activities for crew members. For the more cultured members, there is also a whole slew of street performers from all corners of the known system that show off their skills in hopes of tips and handouts. An example of such performers can be seen in the image above as it depicts a Xindiri Wheel Harmonica grinder with their pet dew-wing.
