For some reason, modern artists seem to scoff at other artists who make mood pieces. I don't know why, but I think it might be because mood pieces are considered old fashioned, or because an artist who creates a mood piece is trying to appeal to everyday people, and not other artists. I think artists need to create more mood pieces for that very reason, to appeal to the unwashed masses. I think the reason why art was once so popular and present in everyday culture is because artists were trying to appeal to regular folk through the use of mood pieces.
