The only time I have ever used a Pikachu was in PKMN moon in order to get Alolan Raichu.

It's significantly better when evolved is why. I often end up using a Raichu. I never evolved my Pikachu in Yellow though, and used the cosplay Pikachu on my main team in ORAS.
