yearly piece of my siren character from cyan: os. [link] will lead you to the others. :Bi forgot to mention one thing, it was basically just a figure rendering. then i thought, oh, make her in her grotto luring people to their deaths..and then the light source. yes, it's completely wrong. such a strong light source from above would make the shadows from the bottom really dark and more intense. and of course, the fade out at the bottom wouldn't work, but because it is white, i used that negative space to try to balance the composition. the original is actually a lot wider. the tail's not cut off, and there's more space to the side. i always forget to write out my own crits when i post, or i realize that after i post. so sorry for the edit, thank you for looking and commenting. <3

I take it to mean some sort of enchantress who leads men to their doom and is considered dangerously seductive.
Early Greek mythology depicts sirens as half-bird but later are portrayed in later folklore as fully aquatic and mermaid-like. The words for mermaid in latin based languages are very similar to the word siren itself. (sirena, sirΓ©ne, sirena, syrena, etc.) In biology, the Sirenia comprise an order of fully aquatic animals.
So long story short, yes to both of your questions. *D I chose to go with the aquatic interpretation that fits best with my story that my character is based in. (:

shes very pretty..her eyes are so well done and alluring. i love the way you made the light shining down, even if the shading perfect. And the details in this is absolutely amazing...from her hair down to the individual scales on her tail to each fin and that..sort of top thing shes wearing. all of it is really amazing, fantastic job.

wow, this is really nice. the shading, the details, im speechless. though i do have some advice(even if it is only my preference), instead of having a seam where the tail meets the body you should make it so the scales fuse seamlessly with the torso, makes it looks more natural. i love her hair! shes so evil looking.
