Description
Imperious is the sword of Daylen, the protagonist of Shadow of the Conqueror (Chronicles of Everfall Volume 1) by Shad M. Brooks. It was originally crafted from wood and then enchanted. With a sharp blade only 1mm (0.04") thick and virtually indestructable, it is incredibly sharp. The blade alone is 110cm (43") long, so this one-handed sword is longer than most two-handed swords. However, since it retains its original weight, it is actually quite light.

This is pretty much the first fanart I ever did. First time I did a metal material with this technique, building a hdri scene with global illumination. Takes forever to render, but it looks really nice.

The blade is actually described as having a gem- or sapphire-like look, but since it's so thin, that looked rather boring. Thus I tried to recreate the look from the book's cover art.

BTW, I can really recommend reading Shadow of the Conqueror, it's got a good writing style, interesting story and some very nice worldbuilding.
