Much of this is clearly derived from that old Indian carving. It was on a cylindrical thing of some sort. I forget what. Other elements, I don't know where they're from. I'd be sair interested to know the sources of inspiration for this thing.

I think the biggest influence is probably the gundestrup cauldron from denmark and the pillar of the boatmen from what is now france. I dont see any indian influence

There are some very similar images in some carvings I've seen from ancient India. I can't recall any specifics at the mo. I have some photographs somewhere...
