thanks ! I like sketches a lot, not only to fix ideas in my head, but also for the special way they express things - few simple lines, very rough sometimes, summing all essential traits of a subject : sometimes I even prefer sketches to finished works

so you should, improving your technique is important in the beginning (remains important all the time but is especially so at first)
then come the ideas but you already have a base that allows you to draw what you think (more or less)
