I decided to draw my version of Askari's Guard. All these characters are going to appear in my comic, 'The First King', some sooner than others... Sooo, who are these characters?

The yellow/orange guy with "Shan Yu eyes" is Askari, the leader of the first Lion Guard. He's a real, official character from the Lion Guard series - so no, the design is not my fault. Though I did design his body because it wasn't shown in the series. But his face is not my fault.

My theory about Askari is that his face is a little malformed. Other lions and animals bully him because of his "ugliness" and because they think he's somehow "cursed". This causes him to become very fierce, empathetic and justice-seeking.

The yellowish brown lion next to Askari is his step-brother Jabari, the bravest member of the Guard. This was originally my design for Askari, but then TLG decided to give him an official design.

The green-eyed lion next to Jabari is Davu, the keenest of sight. Not much to say about him yet.

The black-maned, blue-eyed lion is Mgeni, the fastest member. This character was gifted to me by KikiElfa1806 in December 2017. I always knew I was going to use him in my comic, because I needed a dark-furred, black-maned, blue-eyed lion. And now I didn't have to design one myself. He's my Chozi's ancestor. And Nkosi's son-in-law.

The big lion next to Mgeni is Makubwa, the strongest member. He's Mgeni's cousin.
